On Wednesday, November 11, Phoenix, Arizona based Captain Squeegee released a music video for the band’s song “Seek.”

Captain Squeegee and its odd brand of experimental, other-worldly, reverse-engineered rock routinely features extraterrestrial themes in its music and its videos. And “Seek” is a prime example. This video depicts a secret romantic relationship in the near future between a human and an extraterrestrial. Phoenix New Times describes the video as an “extraterrestrial Romeo and Juliet.”

The video was directed by Matty Steinkamp of Sundawg Media, with whom the band has previously worked on multiple videos. Speaking with Phoenix New Times, bandleader and musical madman Danny Torgersen comments, “I like how Matty set it in the not-so-distant future . . . Because I would like to see a not-so-distant future where we are interacting with extraterrestrials in a meaningful way. Because I think they are interacting with us right now, but that the message and relationship is not that clear.”

“Seek” appears on Captain Squeegee’s 2013 album, To the Bardos!.
